New Year's Resolutions 2009

I know these are like a week late, but hey it's me we are talking about. I never do anything in a timely manner, just ask my mother.

1-To get fit in 2009-Not just a diet to lose weight, but a lifestyle change, it's the only thing that is going to work.

2-Be a better mom, not yell so much and have more patience with the boys.

3-Be better at how I spend my time. I waste a lot of time on silly stuff, like being on the computer, watching too much TV, going shopping when I don't need anything.

4-Spend time everyday with the Lord, I need to really get my quiet time in every single morning.

5-Make more time to spend with just Bruce. When Mom and Dad are happy, everyone is happy!!!

I think 5 should do it for now. Those aren't the easiest resolutions to follow either. But with hard work and a whole lot of prayer I know I can make this a great year of changes in my life!!!

I hope your New Year's Resolutions come to pass everyone!!!

I can't believe it's 2009!!!

I can not believe how time flies now that I am older. I remember when I was working at the bank and everyone was flipping out about Y2K and all the computers messing up and everything. And here it is almost a decade later. Where does the time go???

What a year we had at the Drake house in 2008 though. We had a year of laughter and a year of tears. We said goodbye to some loved ones, and hello, goodbye, hello again and goodbye again, and finally welcome home to Bruce returning from Iraq. A day that seemed would never come, but it did, and that was 6 or 7 weeks ago. Sometimes I just wish life would slow down just a bit.

This year doesn't seem like it will be much slower though for the Drake family. We have an upcoming move in a few months. Bruce will be gone again for a three month school. We will be selling our first home we ever purchased. Moving away from wonderful friends we've made here in New York. Moving to Georgia, and being close to family and friends down there.

It seems in the Army that is the way of life. There is always change just around the corner. Life definately doesn't get dull in the Army. Just when you are settled and things are somewhat normal, here comes another big move. The good thing about this one is, though we are sad to leave our friends behind, we are all anxious for another adventure. The boys are so excited to be moving so that helps. They can't wait to be by Uncle Jon and Aunt Lori, and are convinced they will be over there every weekend. :) Sounds good to me. :) (Just kidding guys, sort of) :)

Well from our family to your family, we wish you a very very Happy and healthy 2009!!!
