I read this on my friend Audrey's facebook page and asked if we could share it. It is a great verse and covers many of the areas in my life that I'm wanting to improve on in 2010.

Choices!!!

That's my word of the year. It's all about choices, making the right ones for me. The right ones for my husband, and the right ones for my kids. I need to start making better, smarter choices for myself. In all areas of my life. I need to choose better foods to eat, choose foods NOT to eat and to stay away from. Choose more wisely when making purchases to help our finances. Choose my words carefully before I speak to my kids or husband in anger. Choose a good church to get involved with down here in GA, which means getting off my hiney and actually attending some so I can choose the right one for our family. I need to choose to get up and go for a walk instead of sitting around watching TV. Choose to keep the house nicer and the laundry caught up (this one needed desparately!!!) :)

Know What I'm Sick Of?

I'm sick and tired of all these commercials that show these stick skinny women. Like we are all supposed to look like that. Newsflash, Victoria, I know I'm overweight, I don't need to see your Secrets every other commercial on TV, to make me feel bad about myself. But then I think, why should I let them make me feel bad about myself. Only I can do that, by allowing them to get a reaction out of me. I know what I need to do to make a better me, I just need to do it!!!

TWENTY TEN IS MY YEAR!!!

First Day of 2010

So it's the beginning of a New Year. Twenty Ten, fun ring to that I think. First thing that pops into my head, where did the last 10 years go? I can't believe how times flies. We were talking last night at the NYE party, about how crazy everyone was when it was getting ready to be 2000, Y2K, OH NO the end of the world. Computers are gonna crash, what are we gonna do? And now look here we are ten years flying by like that.... A new decade......last decade I got two more boys, brings the count to three...wonder what the next decade will bring....hopefully no more boys!!! :) (this is for my pregnant sister in law, who I'm praying has a girl next summer!!!)

Last year had it's ups and downs for the Drake family and I'm praying that 2010 is a better year for us!!!

We had a great NYE party last night with some new friends in Georgia. Got to spend the evening with my brother and sister in law and thier friends. Who I am happy to say are our new friends, it's nice to move to a new place with built in friends. We played Texas Hold'em into the wee hours of the night, and I walked away ahead I'm proud to say. That's saying something with these cardsharks!!! Thanks to the Hamilton's for thier hospitality, and thanks to my niece for being our DD and driving us home!!! Love you guys!!!
